What are the differences between the ordinary JR Pass and the Green Pass?

The ordinary JR Pass offers services for travelers in ordinary class.

The Green Pass corresponds to the First Class. The advantages of the First Class in Japanese trains are:

• More comfortable, wider seats, with a wider reclining capacity and additional room for stretching legs;
• Spacious aisles, wider windows, and more space for luggage;
• Less passengers in the car, meaning less time waiting and a quieter travel;
• Green class cars are generally located closer to the entrance / exit of the train platforms.
