Without JR Pass
Departure from Tokyo-Shinjuku, last stop in Odawara or Yumoto (according to the itinerary previously agreed upon with the guide).
Allow:
- ~85 minutes each way, included in the total length of the tour (the guide will use the transportation time to answer your questions, give insights on Japan, and especially on Hakone).
- The Hakone Free Pass covers the round trip on Odakyu lines. Access to Romance Car with additional fees (¥1,090 / ~$8 one way, to buy before boarding) for a fastest and more comfortable trip.
With the JR Pass
Departure from Tokyo or Shinagawa, arrival in Odawara.
Allow:
- ~35 minutes each way by Shinkansen (bullet train), included in the total length of the tour (the guide will use the transportation time to answer your questions, give insights on Japan, and especially on Hakone).
- An additional ¥5,000 (~$35) fee to cover for the guide’s round trip ticket (the JR Pass holder’s travel is covered by the JR Pass). Allow for an additional ¥1,500 (~$10) on the round trip fare if you wish the guide to accompany you in Green Car (First class).
Persons with Reduced Mobility
Visiting Hakone is possible for “basic” wheelchairs users (please tell us about your equipment in your reservation message). However, many places might not be accessible to electric wheelchairs, due to their weight.
