Tokyo Tsukiji Market was the biggest fish market in the world and used to attract crowds of visitors. Now tuna auctions don’t occur anymore in Tsukiji, but it is still possible to visit the Outer Market.
There are, however, some rules to discover the place with a guide.
Tsukiji Outer Market is open from 5 a.m. but the visit is usually interesting from 9 a.m.
Our guides can show you the place in details during a Tokyo Tour, on a half a day (morning only) or a day tour.
You can ask for a guided tour of Tsukiji Outer Market when providing your details in the reservation process.
Note however that this service is not recommended for persons in wheelchairs: there are indeed risks due to the narrowness of the alleys, where pallet trucks drive very fast.
On 11 October 2018, Tsukji Fish Market was transferred in Toyosu, 3 kilometers away toward south.
