Health and safety in Japan

Japan is one of the safest countries in the world. For example:

  • It has one of the lowest crime rate in the world;
  • Most buildings are protected by very strict antiseismic regulations;
  • Water is drinkable;
  • Many Japanese people wear masks, not against pollution but to prevent hay fever or avoid spreading germs when they are sick.

There is no required vaccine to travel in Japan. However, as for any travel in a foreign country, it is recommended to check the scope of your insurance and assistance contracts (bank card, health insurance, etc.)
